The Genesis FC U14 Academy Team clinched 1st Place in the New England Premiership with a convincing 6-2 win on Sunday over the second place Seacoast United Team. With only two league games remaining the GFC now have a six point lead and a head to head victory over Seacoast – congratulations GFC U14 Academy – League Champions!
The SFC U15/16 Academy Team moved into first place in the Premiership with a 3-1 victory on Saturday in Massachusetts and a 4-1 win against a solid Boston GPS Team on Sunday night in NH.
The SFC U13/14 Academy enjoyed attending the Revolution v. Chicago Fire MLS Match at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night (Photo), but dropped a crucial NEP match on Sunday to drop down to 3rd place. The U13/14 Academy Team can clinch a second place finish and gain promotion with wins in their final two matches.
The SFC U11/12 Academy was leading 1-0 on Saturday with seven minutes remaining, but faded late and dropped 2-1. On Sunday the U12’s were wrecked again when they allowed a last minute goal in NH to draw 1-1. The results drop the SFC U11/12’s from 1st to 4th place in the table with one match remaining.
The SFC U17/18 Academy also dropped 2-1 on Sunday and the result could cost them a league title with only one match remaining in league play. The U18’s were missing players due to International US Region Team play, but the loss was uncharacteristic for this highly competitive team.
SFC and GFC Teams are off on Monday, but hold team training sessions Tuesday thru Friday as they prepare for another great weekend of football!
